Has anyone had an issue with the gaskets on the wastegates. My car eats them like there's no tomorrow. They start by leaking a little on an edge and then it'll be done within no time. I've been through 2 gaskets in the past month alone.

yes i had a problem with the gasket between the manifold and the wastegate. i went to napa and got a sheet of heavy exhaust gasket stuff. it has worked leak free for about 6 months.

forgive me for being stupid psi2hi but whats the pressure fit o-ring?
I have a metal gasket thing from slowboy's j pipe and I'm going to see if that works if its the same size but If it doesn't I'll go for the o-ring.
Right now I'm running without a gasket, it went out on me in morgantown before class :( so I had no choice. It leaks pretty bad, On Off boost but its better than a gasket going and the wastegate backing off like before.

the pressure fit o ring is the ring that fits in the hole on the bottom of the wastegate.

I am running one with a gasket. I could not get the Tial and my Victory performance o2 housing on with the gasket so I took it off and have never leaked

Alright I didn't remeber there was a piece there until you said that. Alright, I'll try to bolt it up like that 2morrow and see if I get any better results. Thanks Guys :thumb:

The Turbonetics Deltagate gaskets have a "fire ring" which makes them a much better gasket than the one from Tial, it is what I am using.

just have both the flanges trued at a machine shop if they aren't true as is and you won't need a gasket at all. I bought a gasket from rre for mine and it's been fine for 2 years...

I like it! The one from TIAL is just a pressed fiber of some sort with a metal mesh inside. That ring would cure my problems, thanks thats probably what I'll be ordering. :thumb:

If your 38mm gasket is leaking, its because the flange is warped. Machine the warped surface flat and you wont go through gaskets.

Not warped, I've talked to distributors and they said that TIAL supplies a good gasket, it just doesn't last long. My flange is not warped, as right now I have no gasket and they butt together perfectly, but I'd like to get one in there to feel safe.

The flange is not warped. As stated above, the problem lies with the supplied gaskets. They have a tendency to blow out near the thin edges.

I've personally had no sealing problems with these SCE copper gaskets.

Slowboy has sce copper or stell gaskets to use with the 38mm WG. I just saw them on their page today. Maybe that will help.

I use the steel gaskets, a guy on dsmtalk.com was experimenting with them and sent me some for free to test out, so far so good. I also use Permatex copper spray on any gasket I put on my car, its worth the money.

I ran a Tial 38mm for a year or so with no gasket on a SFP manifold. No problems, no leaks.

I ran a Tial 40mm for another year or so with a FP3065, no gasket. No problems, no leaks.

The metal ring that the valve seats against seems to do an adequate job of sealing the wastegate. It wouldn't surprise me if using a gasket interferes with that ring doing its job. I can't say anything for sure except that fact that I personally have never needed a gasket.

Just to update you guys i don't even use RTV anymore. Does not leak whatsoever perfect:)
