Today has been interesting to say the least. T/S Greddy boost controller to find out not all the parts are installed. Missing the solenoid. Well after that I had more questions than a few. The biggest one is on the MBC. There are 2 barbed fittings, Where do the hoses go that are not there? From the install manual looks as if one goes to the control valve for the manual controller. The LICP has a nipple that is capped off with a bolt. Would the other hose go there? Dont know if it make as a differance but the turbo is a 25g (make is unknow) and the waste gate is a HKS 50mm. Hmm hope wastegate and MBC are the same!! Don't want to confuse folks.

Thanks Alex, but I guess I'm not explaining myself well enough. The fittings I am asking about are on the wastegate. I am finishing the electronic boost controler as soon as I find a solenoid. Not sure if the acronym MBC is short for main boost controller or manual. My logic is if nothing is hooked (vacuum or pressure) to the wastegate all it will do is relieve boost once the spring has been overcome. Is this a correct assumption or am I all gagged up.

If I understand you correctly, the answer is "NO". The wastegate doesn't get overcome by exhaust gas rather by intake pressure signal. In other words, if vacuum/pressure lines are not hooked up to the wastegate, the gate will never open resulting in out of control boost.

OK You have my undivided attention!! So one hose goes to the intake would that be the hose coming out of the side of the wastegate or the end. The pic shows the area where the fitting is supposed to go. where does the other hose go? Would that be dependant on my setup?

That looks to be the Deltagate which I'm not familiar with nor am I with your ebc but the basic concept is this: Pressure source (usually off the compressor housing or T'ed off the BOV line) goes to the boost controller (in your case an EBC) and the output of the controller goes to the wastegate to signal it when to open. Your set up is a little more complicated because of the Deltagate/EBC combo but if you have the factory manual for both, following the basic concept of boost contolling, you should be able to figure this out. ;)

hey guys I have the dual stage mbc from turbo xs and I was wondering where the pressure hose that goes splits into the bov and intake hose, couldnt i just instead of putting that on the bov/intake tube and attach it to the nipple coming off my big16g pressure side? the cold side am I making sense? thanks Im asking because I have an hks and the nipple is alot bigger than the bc nipple so Id rather do the less amount of work possible? thanks alot guys./

In fact with a bleeder type MBC like the TurboXS (also known to have boost spike problems), you should take your pressure source from the compressor housing instead of the BOV line for two reasons.

1. Much shorter route to decrease the chance of boost spike.

2. Prevent pulling in un-metered and un-filtered air through the mbc when system is under vacuum.

Well I have the manual for the EBC but nothing for the wastegate. The manual is GReddy B-Spec II it basically show a stock system with an Internal wastegate and a wastegate actuator. It also shows a solenoid going to the inlet tubing (which I don't have). Kind of wished i didn't by this 1/2 assed modded car. What a headache. Still looking on GReddy site if I can get the acrobat reader to install the new updates. Anyone with an external wastegate??

Dave

ok well that didnt work I plummed into the inlet side of the turbo and now my car is reving up and down running like shit lean i think too much boost, mine doesnt look like the one on turboxs's website. pressure to silver nipple and the other to wastegate? my car idles from 1100 all the way down to 2-300 and it does that the entire time the car is on, something isnt right here??? any ideas?

So back to pressure and vacuum source. This is an page from the EBC install manual. I'm still confused where the 2 lines are supposed to be to make the wastegate work without the EBC or manual controller.

Well I think I have answered my question. The side port is for boost pressure and the top port is for turbo intake pressure. Anyone disagree.

Can you post the pic again?

theres only 1 nipple coming off the compressor side of the turbo U know what im talking about?
Not really. Big16g does not come with a nipple on the compressor housing so I'm assuming you tapped it yourself. BTW you do realize that you're jacking this thread right?

im a jackass sorry i meant the jpipe!!! GRRR i hate being stupiud!
I think you've jacked this thread long enough. I suggest starting your own thread stating all that has been done so far and I'll be glad to help you there.

Dave, can you put that diagram up again? Which (brand and model) wastegate is it?
