That does suck indeed. Check out the shitty welds. Also, you can see the "brace" still attached to the flange!

willing to spend the money on the nice wastgate and turbo, too bad he wasn't that willing to get a nice manifold.

His honduh was probably fast for like a good minute yo'. Lol, really i can't imagine how long it took that honda to spool a holset turbo. :tease:

same thing happened to my ssautochrome turboheader. I told the guy but he gave no reply. if your looking for turboheaders, chek out DNP'S, turbonetics or just go with stock modified like I did.

one of my buddies has the headers.... he had to do all this custom work to get them to fit.... i told him im counting the days until his turbo "falls off" and then nothing else will fit b/c his turbo is moved so much more forward and all... too bad for him

ROFL

OMG i should post a pic of my header on my eclipse that I have now..I am going to replace that POS..hold on let me get my camera out..funny the exaust fell twice because its bolted together from the header to the cat in two pieces...

Umm ok so ECLIPSE95 are you implying your manifold broke? What exactly are you trying to say?

Ive seen this pic b4 ,poor honda guy ,actually alot of honda guys have had problems with ssautochrome headers ,since it's mostly the honda horror stories we hear about.

Turn's out my kou mani is an ssautochrome peice too, funny it hasnt broken on me yet.
Take a look at an interesting review.

Even crappy manufacturers of stuff like this is bound to accidently make a good one now and then.. ROFL

LOLz sorry what I was trying to say at 2:30 in the morning..that my exaust dropped from the header because the way they have it setup it isn't flanged it doesn't have a gasket in between more like a male and female type of fitting just one pipe is bigger than the other so one end fits over the other with some bolts that come out all the time..even with lock washers on etc..just a crappy header just to go along with the whole ssautochrome is crap deal

I suppose they should have made that out of Inconel.

That sucks for whoever owns that vehicle. I'm just curious as to how he could not have noticed that starting to crack.

I had a ssautochrome header on my 2gnt and it was great,i guess it's not the same with their turbo header.sucks for you homie.
Difference is weight. It must support the weight of a turbo. thats why they break/crack if made poorly

hi i am dsmpower1 :dsm:
i too am an owner of a t3 ssautochrome manifold.
i had to cut the wastegate flange and angle it so my sweet tial wastegate didnt run into my power steering.
what they hell were they thinking saying that there would be no clearance issues with the power steering........yeah........if you dont have one.........
but so far it hasn't falllen off of my ride yet. should i say im luck? so far i guess?

oh yeah also i heard that ssautochrome uses different designs and company's for different engines. so the honda although made crappy doesnt always mean that the same company made the dsm one . i heard the sr20 manifold was really sh*t*y though.... :notgood:

mine was for the 4g63 2g. I had to make the same mod you did for clearance with power steering and tial wastegate. I dont have the manifold anymore, cause my experience was every week a new crack. I even made supports under the manifold to make it stronger, but had no luck. ssautocrhome turbo headers :notgood: just look at the price!

I figure the easiest way around this is to buy a less expensive cast iron unit from GRE or SBR. I have GRE's manifold and there's NO WAY that anything even remotely this catastrophic could happen to it. Who cares if it isn't a tubular manifold unless every last ounce of airflow is required to be perfect, in which case you are a serious racer, in which case you wouldn't buy a SuperShittyAutocrap header anyways.

There is a reason why all production turbo cars run cast manifolds and also a reason why the tubular manifolds designed like and QC burnstainless builds are the only thing you see on full race cars.

The reason I think their might be so many bloody failures with some of these headers is because their made with a wastegate tube from the collector making the danm header weaker. That and the metal for some of these headers is way too fragile.

I my case it's just a tubulare header which replicates a dnp design. I actually like mine alot and it's gotten the job done so far. For the price I cant really complain.

Free up as much flow as possible from the intake to exhaust then to the fuel, this is my ideology and my header has been nothing but amazing in freeing up spooling up my e316g.
