Ok I was wondering if there is a "homemade" way to fix the negative rear camber on a 1g awd?? If there is how? thanks. -M

Whats taboo mean when he says this? : "ask the technitians to only use the eccentric bolt by the differential to fine-tune the rear camber? And another thing, how long and wide aprox. is the bracket you make? My guess was around 10" long or so and about 1.5" wide. Thanks. -M

Please before you consider doing ANY business with Taboo, I'd suggest visiting Vendors-Reviewed.com

There is another site that sells a rear camber kit. When I find it I'll post a link up. But no there is no easy homemade way to fix 1g rear camber like you can with the 2g.

Ok thanks, but I am also still wondering this: how long and wide aprox. is the bracket you make? My guess was around 10" long or so and about 1.5" wide. Thanks -M

Ok so since I have negative camber and I don't have any lowering springs or any different susupesion mods, would it fix it and not give me any more problems if I do this mod?

What I was trying to say was that I think you should visit Vendors Reviewed before you purchase anything from TSS. Just some advice because you are just going to be wasting your money. BUT yes I do think you should fix this. And like I said, once I found the company that sold the other 1g camber kit I'd post it up, because I doubt this company will take your money and run like other companies that sell camber kits will. Here is the link...

Since you're not lowered I would guess the camber you are seeing is the stock ammount. Did you know the factory settings have 1.5 degrees negative camber in the rear wheels?

You already have eccentric bolts to adjust the camber. They come stock with the car. They don't have much range, but it's good enough to dial out approximately 1 degree, which is fine for a car that is at stock height or slightly lowered.

ok so are you saying that I don't have to adjust at all, and I can just leave it?

You could leave it if you like the way your car handles as it is now. IMHO I think the factory alignment settings are much too tame. If you want to liven up the handling and reduce understeer you could set the camber to 1 degree, and set the rear toe to zero. (factory alignment has 3.6 mm toe-in.)

If I were to suggest he buy something it would be the new version of the Ingalls rear control arms but since he wanted to know how to DIY I pointed him to the TSS style mod.

Steve

These are what I have on my car and they are sweet. I was going to get the other bushings, but I didnt know if I would run out of room for a good alignment becasue my car is lowered about 2 inches. I bought the arms and have a ton of adjustment.

As far as leaving it you need to know were it is at and how you plan on using it. If you are autocrossing or roadracing you will want to have it setup fairly "aggresive". If you are just usign it to drive around and have fun you wont want the same specs as an autocross car. All that will do is wear out your tires quickly. Take it to an alignment shop and see if you are in spec, then decide how you want it to handle and respond.

I just ordered this kit, I'll let you guys know how it works.

Nice! Please do share how it goes. Also I'm unfamiliar with those Whiteline kits. Are they pretty much the same thing as the ones I linked to earlier??

Looks like exactly the same thing. You are now left with a choice, yellow or blue...

We've used the DME camber kit on one of our own vehicles. Had so much adjusment you could make positive camber. This was on a 1G AWD w/ sprint springs. We actually sell the kit as well just haven't gotten it back up on our site yet, but they are available.

While expensive, I feel the Ingalls is the best choice right now IMO.
Since all most people want is to be able to correct the negative camber associated with lowering the vehicle, I don't see how the Ingalls kit is any better than an eccentric bushing. They both correct the camber. They can both correct a ton of negative camber (my car sits REALLY low) but one is less than a third the price of the other. In my book, that makes the eccentric bushing the best choice.
