need new brakes, what should i get?

my talon i bought last summer has had over 20,000 miles on the current brakes, and i can tell they are going bad. i want to upgrade them with some new aftermarket brakes........nothing special, no brembos or anything serious, just looking for an improvement over stock. i also want to spend as little money as possible on them. i live in new jersey.....what kind of brakes should i get and where is the cheapest place for me to install them?

Possibly try some slotted rotors up front. I'd stay away from crossdrilled b/c they crack sometimes. The cheapest place to install them is your driveway. :cool:

just get stock rotors, and better pads, like ebc green stuff.

agreed on the pads...ebc greenstuff has been on my car for several years now. the rest depends on your driving. if you are really hard on the breaks now...then you will probably be harder on them after the pad upgrade...then you will stress crack the factory rotors_upgrade to the power slot plus. if you are not hard on the brakes then go with the factory rotors and a good set of pads...plus the braided lines really do help.

Next month, I will be purchasing my Powerslot front and rear rotors and I will probably be using Hawk pads. I'll comment on the set-up as soon as I'm finished with the install.

Check out TheSpeedFactor's DSM brake special. I just got my set in the mail two days ago, they look great. Hopefully I'll take some pics tonight. :thumb:
