The random stupid what turbo should I buy is getting out of hand as of late.


If you want us to treat you like adults, include some ####ing info about your car, your goals, ect. so we can even attempt tp answer your question damnit!!

I was wondering what turbo I should go with for my setup?

I have a 4cyl. 98 Eclipse, what turbo (s) should I go with to run 9's? I was thinking 2 T88's with ball bearings, and a big chrome Blow Off Valve, some 5" sewer pipe, and one of those 5" monster tach's with the shift light on the side. I wanna run 9's so I can blow away this SRT 4 in my town , will Twin T88's do it for me on my stock injectors?

stock injectors are overkill

What if there was some kind of selection chart that somebody can go through and give an idea of a turbo or what range they should be shopping in? Something like this:

Q1: What are you racing as?
a. autocross
b. drag
c. road racing

Q2: What are your goals in whp? (realistically)
a. 250-300
b. 301-350
c. 351-450
d. 451+

Q3: Are you FWD or AWD?

Q4: How much $ are you willing to spend on an entire setup including supporting mods?
a. $1000
b. $2000
c. $4000
d. $8000

and so forth being more specific though, thus coming to a formulated conclusion.

That's the info a good search will tell someone about each turbo they are thinking about along with incluing the vendor of choice. mark

yea and to add to it i have seen way too many evo 3 16g vs. t 28 threads. do some research then ask ??'s.

how do i install a boost/oil/afr gauge?

How come I have turbo lag.

If I put this hugh ass turbo on my car can I run stock injectors.

Or my favorite : I put all this High Per. stuff on my car and it broke, Mitsu sucks, I want a 10 sec. daily driver.

I am glad others are also upset and very fed up.

Why bash people that are misinformed? there on this forum for a reason and that is to find out info..Yes yes i know they should do a search but you know how some people are ethier lazy or just dont know any better and thats that, there is no need to yell at these people or mock the crap out of them.

Well if they're lazy they won't get an answer from me. The most annoying thing of all is when you see two threads asking virtually the same thing, on the same page. That is just ridiculous, some people are too lazy to even glance at the threads before posting. That to me is an insult.

Those topics have been beaten to DEATH. Instead of worthwhile threads on improving handling, the suspension tunning forum is filled with dumb threads about wheels.

why stomp on ants? Because you can and they give you good reason too. We were all newbies once and I can remember when I first started posting how bad I didn't want to sound like a tool posting some stupid question that could be answered by simply looking it up.

How else do you perpose we guide them by the hand? I'm all for informing, and educating anyone who has a intrest in DSM's. But don't beat a dead horse.

Yeah, I don't know how people don't search. When I became a dsmer, I would just search and not post anything for about 4-5 months. I studied lots of the tech articles and browsed through vfaq to get a general idea of how things work and the problems that can occur.

I also agree with ndgsx about those stupid threads in the drivetrain about the biggest size wheel that a dsm can fit. There is a non-performance section for a reason, thankfully only one section.

Sometimes there should be a warning window reminding the poster to search when making a new thread.

you should get banned for starting this thread in the engine performance.

and instead of moderators posting in this thread complaining, why not close down the threads?
