What would you think? Heres a quick shorthand. Was in limp mode 2 years ago suddenly went out of limp mode. worked good for a year then would sporatically work on and off. Now I took out that tranny and put in another and it does the same thing. Stays in the same gear feels like it needs to build boost to even pull out I mean it runs smooth just never changes gears and is a snail to get going. It has to be electrical right! I mean Im getting no codes at all. whats your opinion. Stuck in gear in pa Help! Thanks P

I just went through the same thing. It would go in limp mode more and more. Wouldn't go into gear in the morning until it warmed up or turned on and off. Replaced sylnoids, finally had to rebuild the trans.

But if you changed transmissions and it still does it, sounds like aTCU problem. See if you can borrow one, they just plug in and out. New one at jobber is $140

I talked to my buddy who works at a garage and he said it sounds as if the trannys are good it is just electrical somewhere I took the tcu out and it drove the exact same way. So I contacted ecmtogo and they offer a free diagnostic on the tcu and will repair if you request it. So Im gonna send it to them and see what happens. Is there a way to reset the tcu or get it out of limp mode. I have disconnected the battery for days a few times and nothing. Is there a turn the key sequence? Late P

Well for a little update I had the tcu repaired at ecmtogo and its still in limp mode I checked for codes on a voltmeter set at 2.5 dc and it just pulsed at the same speed and sweeops forever. I cleaned the contacts let the battery unhooked for 5 hours and rechecked my wiring and all seems well. So Im not sure what to do now as I know 1 transmission shop and 1 electrical shop. The only thing I wonder is if the shop can do electrical or if the other knows electrical about trannys. Since its a holiday now I will have to wait a few days til I can check out those options. Oh I also checked for power to the tcu and it seems there are 6 wires carrying power to the TCU 3 on the small 2 on the medium and 1 on the large. I will update when I find out more.

Flashing out codes rarely works correctly- get the TCU codes scanned by a professional with professional equipment.

Yeah John I just talked to the guy at the shop today. Tomorrow I have an appt. He said he will check it out at no charge and we can go from there. Are these scannrs available to the general public or do they cost so much that only the garage would have them. The voltmeter was realy unreliable I must say Sometimes I wouldnt even get any readings at all. So As I learn more I will update. Thanks John

I had the infamous 2 plugs swapped. I put them back in the correct positions and finally it works. So it was a little PITA but its al worth it now. If anyone runs into this problem and needs some help shoot me a PM.
