Hello fellow DSM folks,

I haven't told the forums before but basically I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine, suspension, pretty much an entire overhaul of the car. I bought it slightly modded with some weird exhaust that I changed out to a SRS 3" catback. The turbo blew with 150K logged miles on it so I replaced that with a 16g. Shortly after I blew my main bearings and two of my connecting rods cracked. I was told it was because I did not relocate the oil feed line to the head instead of stock position. Unclear but none-the-less.

I have already removed the engine and transmission. The engine is almost all in pieces for me to replace the connecting rods and most likely, because the engine is out of the car, I will be doing the pistons as well. Grant it, I have no clue of the condition of the pistons since I've yet to remove the head.

My request is simple, I want to build this thing and build it right. I'm not asking for anyone to do it for me because I want the satisfaction of building something from the ground up, but I'm looking for someone to at least oversee or even lend a helping hand or two and help me build her back up. I'm new at this and don't want to mess this up. And I have watched tons of youtube videos and looked through pictures even threads of builds and how-to's.

Compensation is beer and food: Most likely Blue Moon because that's what I drink when I'm working.

It will be all of the above. Seeing as I have yet to confirm the condition of my pistons, which at this point I'm almost 100% sure I'm just going to replace pistons anyway.

Well. I've never assembled the bottom half of the block. But I've helped another member on here out with his head a while back and it went pretty well. It's simple to assemble the head atleast.

man if you have that puppy all apart id upgrade. ARP bolts through out, get the crank knife edged and balanced.etc. you wont regret it later, i didnt.:)

I got some parts if need or maybe when i go help my friend that lives in hayward for some things in his house i can stop to see what you have and can help for a little bit.

Yeah that's no problem at all. Just shoot me a PM I suppose on what parts you have. My main issue right now is getting the head and block machined because I"m at work during the time the machine shops are open.

That's what I'm considering. I want to build this thing and build it right. It's my first entire rebuild ever so hopefully I won't mess things up too bad.
