First forum i have been subscribed to, and first post... so i hope dont F this up. Couldn't find any topics remotly similar to my situation/options so i started a new thread. Any ways I'm currently in afghanistan any looking at engine options from "Jacks Transmissions" to put into a 2g DSM. Does any one have any experience with their Premium engines? my options are a 4g63 2.0L, stroked 4g63 2.3L or a 4g64 2.4. The build will be for street. the reason i want a larger displacement is for quick spool on a large turbo. im looking for around 500 awhp. Any thoughts, experience or advice? This "build from the inside out" became pretty intense, but i want to do it right the first time on my 3rd DSM. on the premium engines, these are my options....

I've had both my DSM's modified, and tuned by them. I'd definately recommend Jack's Transmissions for your engine build... and you'll also need to make sure the rest of the drivetrain can handle all that power, which they can help you out with as well. All their builds come with warranties and they stand behind their work.

Ya, i plan to spend around $13k for their services, I just dont think they know it yet, LOL. I'm leaning towards the 4g64 2.4L followed by a ACT flywheel, ACT Maxx-Xtreme clutch kit, stage 5.1 tranny build, T-case re-build, and a rear diff with a quaife LSD in the rear and front with a 4 spider gear center diff.

I have a Jack built 2.0L short block and a premium tranny and have never had any problems with my motor and the only problems I have had with the tranny are because of the power the car makes and how hard I am on it. Jack trans stands by there work and I like taking my stuff to them they always do a great job!!!!

I will also give you a few recommendations on what you are thinking for your set up if you plan on making 500+ you should think about getting a twin disk clutch instead being that they are lighter and can hold more power then singles. You could also think of running a welded center instead of a 4 spider because its cheaper and stronger plus you can drive your car if you ever have a broken axle instead of having to trailer it which is always good. and unless your 2g doesn't have a LSD there is really no point in spending the extra $ on a new rear diff.

I've had my trans rebuilt by Jack's before. I think he does great work, and from my experience he's a good, honest guy who does good work. Can't ask for much more than that.

Good luck dude. :thumb:
