Fastest DSM lap at Nurburgring?

I'm not talking about Forza/GT/etc, is there a documented fastest lap for a DSM at the 'ring? I ask because I'll have the opportunity to go up there this summer and I'd like to take a shot at the record, if there is one. I saw the database thread and didn't see anything for the track that separates the men from the boys (from a manufacturing standpoint). Thanks guys

So I've googled the shit out of this topic and come up with nothing. This could be an easy claim to fame for me, . I might even make two trips, use the first to establish a baseline and set up a goal time for sponsorship of my second attempt. The fastest documented 4G63 lap was an Evo IX at 8:11. With mods I would think anything under 9 minutes would be a solid goal for a non-pro driver like myself.

Actually, there are a few Eclipses that already finished laps at the Nurburgring. In our group we've only had one that leaked out all it's powersteering fluid, one that started overheating, one that broke a bolt in the exhaust manifold etc. etc. etc. BUT they finished the lap!

But our group is going there again in april and this time a 2G GSX with 2.3 stroker running on a HTA GT35R is coming along. I think his laptime could be used as an interesting baseline.

But it is a great and easily accessible track.

I live 3 hours driving away from the ring, Every year we go a few time with some eclipse/evo's.

My fastest time (recorded with the Apexi rsm is 9.58, just under 10 minutes ..

The car can go faster but the driver doesn't want to crash the car

in about 4 weeks we go again..

solid feedback, I'm hoping to get up there in May. Maybe we can setup some sort of meet and hash out an attempt at setting a DSM record? I'm not concerned with beating 3G/4G/EVO times, the stroker car should have no problem blowing me away but it would certainly be fun to get a documented "fastest DSM lap."

You should probably use that for practice though.

It can take awhile to remember the track and your line on a 2 mile road course let alone one that long, especially with elevation changes.

That would be so sweet! I raced that track forever on Forza trying to beat the track record. I ended up doing it though by like 2 seconds. Tough track...

Only major drawback is by what I've read, the officials Frown on time keeping. People trying to set lap times driving too aggressively and not paying attention to traffic.

After all, It is a Public one way road. There are (Tour) busses and such on it occasionally (According to it's website), unless you happen to catch them letting people set lap times.

I hope in the next 2 years to go there. It is 2500 km away, but my engine, suspension and brakes build need to finish. How do you guys prepare for the track? Maybe one day we can set up an european meeting on the ring

Awesome thought on this thread and to find guys that are able to run the ring in their DSM's is awesome. I was in Germany for 2.5 years back in '90-'92 and never really knew about the ring back then and never went. My loss. I'd like to hear more about the DSMr's over there.
