How many rally drivers do we have here on dsmtuners? I see a quite few in videos and and on some rally forums but never really see many threads here about the subject.

i love rally and go to STPR in wellsboro,pa every year.....never actually rally myself though....if i had a bunch of money and time i definitely would though

We were thinking about going to check that event out this year, is there decent spots to watch the action?

I would REALLY like to work on a rally build but the funding just seems overwhelming...

yeah stpr is great, and alot of great spots to spectate...and since its a rally-americaq event you see all the top us rally drivers.... comrie-picard, pastrana, block, foust, etc...

I would like to start a rally project car but I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe one day.

id check our recions scca website because far as I know theres at least a few arund us per season, one in rochester which is where my avatar pic was taken (perrys park rally x) Lemme know if you ever want a driver ;P

Hey guys,
I'm sure you've read some of my crazy threads on here about my twincharged 1Gb talon. That setup was slated to go in my ex bosses 1991 Galant vr4 rally car. We ran Prescott Rally in 05 and 06, and finished 3rd overall with a pgt prepped car. I just couldn't get him to focus on the Rally stuff. It was one of the reasons I left the company.
I am a big rally nut though, willing to stay up all night working on anyone's car even if it isn't mitsu based. I've used my talon for zero car duties several times (its fun and fast) and have added a HAM radio lisence to my list of features in the car. (This means I can now help new co-drivers and still zero car). My experience on here is there is drag racing, street driving or....... very few people are interested in getting involved. It is rough on a car, as mine will attest to, and if there ever was a durability test for parts, Stage Rally is it. Rally Cross is much nicer to the vehicles and I attend these events whenever I can.

So to answer the OP question, I both drive and co-drive for stage rally, rally-X and auto-X. Drag racing isn't my thing.

After running a 91 Laser at a couple rallycrosses I couldn't turn down a pair of dsm's I found and am currently in the process of getting one running to RallyCross locally in a stock class. Once that's running (almost there) I plan to strip the other down to a dedicated Rally racer (both 90 talon tsi)

so thought I'd throw down my story real quick, hope to see even more rally'ers here. Not exactly sure how i'm going to set the car up yet and plan to ask a number questions on the board here...

I always loved rally racing and i wanted the a awd dsm for its potential and it handles beastly in the snow. i would love to rally with it but there isnt enought stuff on rally (especialy for 2g) and i cant afford it... i still want the parts for rally since im going back and forth from colorado and i think the rally suspention would help a bit in the moutains :D

I would like to know what suspention mods r the best for a rally set up and all the other things that ill need.

aDee, where do you go for rally events? Anywhere in the Chicagoland area?

Just got back from my first stage rally! Let me tell you - it's a lot more involved than it seems, both in terms of logistics and driving. I went with my only objective being to finish, and we not only finished, but also placed 2nd in class (SM) and 4th overall!

Nice job:thumb: Definitely a great finish for your first stage rally.
P.S. Badass avatar picture too :D Got any more pics?
