i couldn't find, well really anything while searching under "driving school, racing school" etc. i have been seriously concidering attending one of these weekend sessions to further advance my driving skills. picking up Skip Barber's school book "Going Faster", increased my enthusiasm in this sport.

im located in New York City, advice on schools, books, videos etc would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

You can do an all out driving school like Skip Barber, which runs somewhere in the $600 range for a weekend if I remember correctly. You can also do a NASA HPDE event which usually runs about $125 for a day of on-track instruction. I also have a link to this site on our racing page:

wow, forget driving, i'm "gunning" for aerial combat school! huh, huhhuh.......

*crickets* LOL

$600 for the weekend? thats conciderably less than what i was thinking. a "friend's friend" of mine is hitting up Skip Barber this spring in prep for the SCCA season, i think he is paying around $4-5,000. maybe thats a week-long program? anyways thanks for the additional info..

Henry Watts: "Secrets of Solo Racing" should go on that list.

The Skip Barber's book is excellent.

I found Carrol Smith's "Drive to Win" rather disjointed and more of a diatribe than anything else, but maybe at this point he was stretching for material.

I'm sure my list, is by no means, a comprehensive list, and it's been quite some time since I've read some of them. It's just some that I have in my library. :D I actuall have "Secrets of Solo Racing" by Henry Watts in my Libray and Had forgotten about it.
I'd like to see some additional books listed here that have been viewed as beneficial.

:)
