So i sold my 91 laser rs fwd turbo before i deployed and now that i am about to come back i want another one so bad but this time i want awd i have found a bunch for sale but i cant pick 1g or 2g please help i want to know the pros and cons of each one cause the last one i had was my first besides my evo that the ex wife wrecked and i didnt have my 1g very long before i found out that they take alot of work to keep running please help i want to do alot of work from scratch this time like full motor build and drivetrain bullet proofing but which one will give the least problems when i start thankyou

Man welcome home and thanks for your service to this country. Really man you cant go wrong with either one since both have the 4g63 engine. The 1g will be better on the wallet but if that doesnt matter to you the 2g is a great car as well. Check out the Model Guide: 1G vs. 2G Comparison page on the dsmtuners website. If i were you i would go with an 1g.. most of the awd 2g's are beat to hell and rusted out like crazy and kids got ahold of them and ruined them.. on any 1g's that are still around and in good shape chances are that a knowledgeable dsm guy owned it since for some reason alot of people think there ugly! WTF so that means that most people that dont like dsm's wont own them so they wont be as rigged up and beat to hell just my .02

yea i really like the 1g and i think if i can find one even if its fed it shouldnt be that hard to make awd i like the 1g cause its beastly maybe ill make a car to beat chris keagy the purple monster jk his car is sick but i want a streetable track monster

i think im going to buy one of the stage 4 frankenstien motors from dsm graveyard with 280 cams and a gt42 go awd with a single drive shaft and custom axles that can handle 700 hp big brake kit lsds and some tein coilovers i might do the individual goil on plug also seems to be the new thing

in my opinion the 2G look better key word being "look". hope you find what you are looking for
