ALL 90 and 91 talon owners please read!!!
Hi, i recently bought a 91 talon tsi fwd 5speed, which i have been working on getting up to tip top shape. for the record i am very mechanicly inclined.
the ?'s i have for you fellow flipup body styled talon owners is on the front factory lighting. The last owner had alot of neons,,led's,, and other non factory lighting instailed on the vehical, and also had alot of the factory wirering changed. I know that the front parking and signal lighting is not wired the factory way, and im trying to figure out exsactly how in factory form the lighting should work.
ill start with the front turn lights, the ones directly up front, touching the little grill . i see they use due filiment bulbs, however there's only 2 wires going to them when it looks like there designed to have 3, and hence the lights do not light when you turn on the parking lights. they only come on and blink with the turn signal/hazard. im almost positive they are to light with the parking lights, and blink with the turn lights, correct?
also,, the side marker lights. each side marker light has 2 smalle lights in it. both single filiment. how are these suposta operate in factoy form??
the y way there wired on mine is they both come on with the parking lights, and stay on. and neither of them blink with the turn signal's. im guessing this also is not correct for factory lighting. one other dsmer on here told me one is to light up to light the turn, when the turn signal is on,, and the other is to blink? is this correct?, im guessing the lights nearest the back in the front side markers are to blink with the turn signals, due to the factory ones being Yellow. even though i have added clear corners. (yes i know about using colored bulbs to be legal. however im going to contiue to use clear unless i get busted.
thanx for any help you guys can give!!
Isaac

Mechanicly inclined helps but their is no substitute for having an owners manual and a repair manual.
It is not uncommon for makers to have unused circuits and bulb sockets installed but not connected for different countries. It is also not uncommon for body shops to violate these because they obtain parts from wrecking yards who don't bother the check the part. It's my opinion you need to concentrate on one item at a time rather than asking for someone help you overhaul the complete lighting system while making mods. You might get lucky and find someone who has recently been there but don't be surprised for you are asking people to dig through wiring diagrams which you should do for yourself so you don't end up with nightmares because you violated a bulb check circuit or a floating ground.
Cheers,
GTM

some people on this board,,,,
i think i asked some pretty simple ?'s,, and realy the simple anwsers would be to simple look at your car and explain how your lights work,, thats all i was asking, but as i see alot on these formals,, rather then help,, some would rather get on here, and waste time by typing up what people shouldnt do, or ?ing other's ability to complete a job,,
I stated that i am mecanicly inclined in order to get right to the simple point of how the lights work on a factory wired car!. because i dont need tips,, pointers or anything else involved in wiring,, i've been working on cars to long!
So please,, if you dont have any usfull information,, dont bother posting.
I realy dont understand these board and the arguments that get started because people just cant leave well enough alone. NEVER have a seen another board with so much of this going on....

You're right. Probably best that we don't bother you any more.
What, you want us to transcribe a wiring diagram for you?
Maybe not.
