OK, i start my car up i put it in reverse.....start going...bang...jump...wtf?....

Now i put it in 1st gear and start to go...the car is barely accelerateing but is accelerating. I hit 2nd and click bang...now it accelerates like normal. Put it in 3rd. Working Fine. Came to a stop put it in 1st starts to accelerate like normal. Click. Bang. Starts accelerating slow but is going but the RPM's are going up faster than it is for accelling.

I stop put it in reverse. works fine. click clik bang.
I put it in 1st works fine...half way through..clik bang. now it does the slow accelling fast RPM's

whats wrong....

Just making a guess but it's sounding like it could be from the AWD, universal joint, Lobro joint, CV joint, or spline is about to let go. Then it could be transmission gears / bearings...

Where is the sound coming from, where do you feel it? Can you drive it easy and it won't happen. Need more info.

Cheers,

could is be the center diff?...or the t-case?

When it happens...i dunno its hard to tell where it is comin from...
maybe the front part of he car like the transmission or tcase...or it could be the rear end...

i can tell u one thing it shifts in to gear fine and comes out fine.

i looked under my car i do have a leaky t case which mitsubishi will be taking care of.

At low speeds or high speeds sometimes the RPM's will just go up and then ull here like a click click and itll jump back to normal...its very very weird..

I would check all the symptoms on the t-case problem so you can make sure you get your due. If it takes a complete replacement or rubuild find out first what's involved and if covered. If unrelated you will need to pay for some parts and labor, just know if there are overlapping labor areas. Perhaps a ride along with a professional is needed if you can get it to always happen.

Ok, first, I would like to thank you for your help, since it is so hard to come across on these boards.

Second, yes it is the transfer case. The center Diff only effects the front wheel power.

Mitsubishi should take care of this because of the leak from the transfer case made the internals run dry. Thus, creating problems. On there invoice it states any problems done to the car by the faulty transfer case will be taken care of with no extra charge.

thanks for the help.
