clutch slipping???

ok first and 2nd gears seem fine i'll throw her in 3rd and get it to about 10 lbs sometimes less maybe 8 and it tachs all to hell 8 grand but it wont go anywhere its free spinning and 4th does the same is this just a bad clutch ?

It sure sound like it to me. I don't know why you would keep pushing the gas when the engine is screaming upwards of self destruct...do not allow the clutch to slip unless you like to be towed home.

It was, now it's a burned friction disk, checked flywheel and burned pressure plate. But keep at it, you can turn that into a snapped timing belt and grenaded engine in no time.
