they told me they cant actually measure it without taking the bottom end apart?

They said they can only inspect it visually

so how are all you guys getting all these numerical figures like .005, .007???

i want an actual movement measure done so i have it on paper to see just how much play there is

What should i ask for exactly? As always, i ran into a dealership full of idiots who dont even know what crankwalk is

BASICALLy, how do i get it measured and where?

effing pinheads.

Put a dial indicator with a magnetic base on the block, bring the tip on the crank pulley bolt, and lever the crank axially, both directions, with moderate force.

My effing god. They must think it's rocket surgery.

simply ask them to "check my crankshaft endplay" for me. if they can't figure out how to do it then go elsewhere
;)
