This is mostly archive fodder.

I was getting a daily P1400 CEL which is for the MDP sensor. (I have not blocked off my EGR valve.) The solution was to pull the sensor off the intake manifold and clean it. I used the little clip that holds the harness to the sesnor to do the cleaning ... how convenient. Inside the sensor was a lot of crap. My guess is that this crap got there either via the EGR or from back before I installed a catch can and disconnected my PCV. In any event, after the cleaning, no more codes thrown.

i blocked off my egr and am still getting the p1400 code after i installed a new mdp sensor. I tried this cleaning method you recommended. I found a light brown, not black like old oil crud, inside but i could slide the clip inside and bottom out with no problem. Is that the color of the crud you pulled from your mdp or is that part of the sensor and if so did i damage it?
