turbo smoking...

Well I just finished installing a 2g exhaust manifold on my car and not 30 seconds after I cranked my car up there was I little bit of smoke coming form the turbo. It looks like the smoke is coming from around the circle clamp or what ever its called. Anyways could somebody please give me some advice on what my problem might be and what I should do to solve it. If never used to smoke either...it just started.

well....let the car sit for a lil while and check if it still smokes from the same area....if it does....then ur gonna need a new turbo.....i had a friend that blew his turbo the same way....it'll still spool...and i think ull be able to drive it as long as u dont get on it real hard.....but if i were u i would start lookin for a new turbo....

I just thought of something. When I was taking off the 4 bolts that connect the manifold to the turbo I had to use a lot of "liquid wrench". I cranked it up and it smoked so I waited about 8 hours and it still smoked a little. Could it be that I used excessive amounts of "liquid wrench"??? I have not noticed any extra smoke out of the exhaust pipe.

Could be the liquid wrench. Engine degreaser will do the same thing.

Luckily I was right...it was the "liquid wrench". I took the car for about a ten minute drive and the smoking stopped. What a relieve.
