hey everyone, i'm installing a 14b on my 95 tsi awd, and everything is going accordingly. i'm actually following a cucumber's write up on dsmtalk.com. there are a few problems as of righ tnow, i've managed to get the exhaust mani off and downpipe off etc. the turbo though is still hanging there... i can't figure out how to get the oil line off of the oil filter assembly.. anyone have a tip or trick or way to get this off??! and the o2 sensor is being an absolute bastard, suggestions for this? otherwise i have 2 bolts left on the o2housing and everything will slide out. thanks for the input and responses guys!!

Are you replacing the O2 Housing? If not just disconnect the O2 Sensor from its mating end up near the head. Thats what I did with the 20G install.

With the oil feed, why not just it off the turbo itself? Or if you follow that line do you can also disconnect it from another point about half way between the turbo and the filter assembly. Its an 11mm or at least it was on mine. But I just used an open end 11mm and just disconnected from the turbo itself, and that other point I just mentioned

I just did a 14b install on my 2g and I ran into the same problems. I ended up stripping my o2 sensor out, LOL. As for the oil feed line, on older cars it is a bi*** to get off, I ended up just cutting mine off and bought a whole feedline from dsm parts.com. As for gaskets or if u need a 1g oil return line, I went to the dealer and it turned out really cheaper then going thru the vendors.

sorry i posted twice. as for the O2 sensor being stuck, you are doing a turbo swap, disonnect everything off the turbo, disconnect your downpipe and remove the whole assembly with the O2 housing still mounted to the turbo. just disconnect the connector plug from the O2 sensor, then once it is out of the car, disconnect the O2 housing from the turbo, then put your O2 housing in a vice if you have it, and go to it with a wrench. spray it down with liquid wrench first and let it soak, it should pop off, if u put some ass into it.

then before you put your turbo back in, bolt the O2 housing up to the turbo, torque the bolts, put in the O2 sensor. mount water lines (be sure to get them bent correctly before dropping it in), and mount your oil feed line all to turbo before you drop it in, this will make it so much easier for you. just sit the turbo down in it's cubby hole and let it rest on the downpipe. Then mount the exhaust manifold and torque. Then lift the turbo with your left hand and stick the turbo to mani bolt through the mani and get them started then torque.

I just did my swap to my evo iii turbo, O2 housing, and manifold and this is the easiest, and fastest way I can think of and should save you some headache. I didn't do all of this, i learned the hard way and made it a harder job than it should have been.

Good luck dude!

One more post guys!

I hope if you are going through the trouble of this swap you are at least going to be porting at minimul your mani and O2. Might as well do the 14b too since it's out. every little bit helps. some say 14b is not worth it, but it can't hurt anything is the way i look at it, plus if u do the mani to 7cm, you shouldn't step down to the 6cm on the turbo, port it too and get the 7cm ss gasket and your set bro.

if u needs some tips on porting yourself so u can save a lot of cash let me know, i do all my work and trust me it's a lot easier than u think.

wow, thanks guys, i just got the o2 sensor off by unplugging it at the head like suggested, and i actually took some ####in tin snips to the oil feed line, and i'm gonna go at it with a wrench now tha ti have more room to maneuver. so far so good though :) only 2 hours or so invested, everythings out and getting ported/polshed tonight :) should be back together tomorrow, i'm just waiting on the bolt that goes on the "C" clamp or clip to hold the turbo together. thanks for the responses guys!

dude! you there is one connection on the oil feed line if you follow it from the turbo down, it's located right under neath the exhuast manifold and has a hanger that holds it the block and everything! could have just disconected it there, but looks like u got her down anyway.
