Car won't start, whats wrong

I purchased a ignited push button starter and bought a wire diagram from www.wirewerx.com and talked to the guy and he told me to tap into the constant power wire which is white and run that to the button and run a ground wire from the button and ground it out so I did that and turned the key on and pushed the button and blew the starter motor fuse so i replaced that and wired it the other way thinking i wired the hot side on the neg side and vice versa did the same thing i replaced the fuse again (to later find out that i guess i need the constant power wire and the starter wire)and said screw it just turn the key and nothing will happen i tested all the fuses all the relays in the engine compartment and i tested the starter relay all check out good the battery is good i tested that the only other thing i can say is that when i turn the key to start nothing happens but as soon as i leave off it it makes a sound under the hood on the drivers side like mabey three clicks or so if anyone could help my out i would greatly appreciate it thank you

STOP - get the schematic of your car - find an Electrician.

i have the schematics in my chiltons book i do believe what am i looking for in that and whats with the electrician im not trying to hook that button up im just trying to get my car to start again

Well mine makes 3 clicks like that when the Battery is dead or I don't push the clutch in but I'm sure you are doing that... At this point I'd have to double check all the fuses at your Main Fusible Link (at the Positive Side of Battery) - put the Battery on a slow charge tonite & get some rest - be CAREFUL about "jumping" these things off - you can toast an ECU - let's not turn this into something worse.

yeah I had checked every single fuse and tested them and all in the fuse box under the dash the starter relay and the fuses and relays and fusible links in the power distribution box whats the fusible link on the pos battery terminal side? and i did test the battery with a batter tester and its good now my battery guage only reads 12 when it usually reads 14 when the car is on and when i hook it up to a portable battery charger and the charger grunts and what not the lights dim in and out with this grunt and i was told that if the batter is fully charged it shouldn't do anything diff but the tester says good battery so
