Oil Passing Turbo Seal Under Boost

The local mitsu. dealer told me that my '92 Eclipse GSX is leaking oil out of the turbo. Apparently, the oil is bypassing the turbo seal while under boost. They recommend I replace the seal and the "cartridge". What are your guys' suggestions here?

Sounds right. They are basically saying you need to have your turbo rebuilt.

Well, that's a large investment of time and money. Any other thoughts as to what else can be done?

BUy a seal and replace it yourself, or just buy a rebuild kit and rebuild it yourself. There is no quick fix to your problem.

They said I need the seal and cartridge. What's the cartridge?

Cartridge? Could the oil leak from the turbo just be excess oil from the breather that drips from the intake side?
