I just removed the lower fitting cap-off on the oil filter housing on my 90 GSX. It was fairly easy once I warmed it up with a propane torch. Anyway, I went to install the angled fitting that came with the RRE kit and this is as far as I feel comfortable tightening it. Does this look right to you guys?

I have a feeling that if I go any tighter either the threads will strip or the filter housing will crack. I did use high temp threadlocker on the fitting. It is tight already as I used my adj wrench to grab it. Lastly, when I go to attach the ss line to this fitting can I use regular teflon tape or should I leave it as is and tighten it? Thanks fellas

Assuming it's NOT crossthreaded - & being you've already Loctited it I would run with it at this point - There is ABSOLUTELY no need for Teflon tape on that flare fitting - you may want to dab a little Anti-Seize on the threads - but it seals at the the FLARE - not the threads - Teflon tape is for Pipe threads. BTW - how do you plan on routing this Stainless line to avoid picking up tons of heat as you cross the Turbo?

(p.s. - I do NOT believe in this MOD)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

The stock oil line on the head got stripped out badly and I dont trust my re-threading skills so I figure I'd better go this route. I know it will pick up some heat...since I removed the ac condensor I might rig something up to route cooler air in there. Today is family day...I will mess with it tomorrow. Have a good one!

Thanks
