between 3000 and 4500 rpm my car will cut back for a split second

between 3000 and 4500 while building boost I will get a small quick
cut back that you can hear in the exhaust tone.Iwanted to know if this hurts my engine or turbo and whats the cause and solution.It have a 3" straight pipe exhaust w/o cat or muffler that is welded to the stock downpipe after the flex section.Im buying a muffler asap and hopefully this will fix my little problem.I would greatly appreciate any knowledgable information or tips thanx.

check your wastegate lines may have poped off. and it is fuel cutting
if you have a boost gauge see what it reads under boost if it is maxing out the gauge.

all of my vacuum lines and wastegate/turbo lines are connected.How much power can i get before fuel cut?yes I have a boost gauge and I have no problems building boost and when it cuts out my boost doesnt drop or flicker the gauge.I have a feeling its the exhaust.

i didn't see the part about the no muffler it may be a back pressure problem.......fuel cut will happen at like 7500rpm or around there

lean the car out mine did the same thing under boost anything over 14psi so i leaned it out a little and wooohoooooooo runs like a champ ...
