belt breaking

My alternator waterpump belt keeps breaking on me and i cannot seem to get it to stop the belt is loose with the tensioner all the way at the bottom tight against the bolt do you think i should try a smaller belt and see if that works any advice for me

I'm suffering from the same thing... After you change the belt, keep checking the tension to make sure it's not loose. I bought cheap $7 belts from advance auto the last time it broke.... This time I got a more expensive/supposedly better belt. Mine started squeeling when it got cold, and then snapped....
