I have had BAD trouble with a 98 Eclipse RS automatic that I purchased. The car has a Star Performance Stage 2 Kit.

To go into some general detail, as I don't know all THAT much about cars, at 40 miles per hour my vehicle hits 3000 RPM's and then it hangs there. If I'm accelerating faster with O/D engaged, the car has also downshifted on it's own before while I was in 3rd gear.

Numerous mechanics have noted that my car is operating in limp mode. I've been told that this means the car has transmission issues.:( I replaced the transmission for $800 and have had the same issues. At first, I just had the speed sensor replaced for $300. After that work my speedometer failed to work anymore. At this point I'm at wits end. Having replaced the transmission and seeing the same symptoms, the only other explanation the mechanics have given me is the possibility that I need to have my vehicle's ECU reprogrammed, reset, recalibated, etc.:barf:

Is there anyone with a vague idea or similar scenario? If so, what did it take to solve your difficulties??? :thumb:
