ive posted this before but didnt seem to get many replies.....the deal is that i have recently bought an evo III 16g about 2 months ago....i put it on the first time with ported manifold, and o2 and the boost hit 10 and creeped to 20 by redline or so......i took it off, sent it to road race and they did the 34mm wastegate flap mod and ported the entire turbo while i continued to port the manifold and o2 housing.....i got it back, put it on and it did the same damn thing.....i can run 10psi and it will creep to 20 or i can set it for 20 and it will stay at 20 and sometimes(when its cold) creep 1-2 psi.....i have no idea what the problem is and i thought id once again, go and try to fix it while my head is off and everything....i run a turbo xs standard MBC and when it is closed, it hits 10, then 20 at high rpms....when i run it to the wastegate, it hits 10 and creeps 20......someone please help me with this problem....this turbo has been nothing but problems for me ...grrrr....thanks

The turbine housing. The wall (on the exhaust side) that separates WG/flapper and exhaust blades, take it out. Take out some of the material to let the WG flapper open up more. Many, many claimed it'll help lots, even completely eliminate it.

AMS do that as standard porting job. Someone mentioned PTE turbos are that style.

Sorry, can't find the job photo.

You could get an external WG. But that's not street-legal (emissions, I don't know about your state).

You could also reduce the diameter of the exhaust a little bit (are you ever going to outflow 2.5" downpipe? Or use the silencer (that came with your n1 exhaust?), that might help.

Here's the idea: remove the material highlighted in red.

Yeah, try silencer FIRST. Do you even have a cat on there? Check the waste gate actuator too. Your 3" exhaust is definitely part of the problem. Keep us posted. :thumb:

ill let you know when i get my car running......im in the process of doing the head gasket and a few other things right now

alrighty folks.....i got the car running again and before hand i ported more of the exhaust side of the turbo where you said but that didnt help....so i put the silencer in and it held 12 lbs all the way to redline with NO creep....so its my exhaust i guess....i could run with my silencer in but for one, ill lose some power and the sound of the open 3 inch is juist too sweet to cover up.....i wish there was soemthing i could do to eliminate this creep.......if there are any suggestions then please post up and thanks for the help

External Wastegate is legal, as long as it routes back into your exhaust piping BEFORE your catalytic convertor.

Make SURE you do not have the vacuum lines on backwards. I did this in my haste to get to the track one day, and it was an XS controller also. Felt like a real dumb ass when I finally figured out why my car suddenly was creeping to 25 psi.
