ok, I know there has been alot on this. That actually is where i got a lot of info on testing. My car always idled at 15hg vac even before i did anything to it. I figured that was normal. The after my turbo swap the car is more like 14 and when i step on the break and let off or just let it idle it will go down to like 11 hg every so often. Now i have come to find out that normal is more like 20. I did a big 16g, and all the supporting mods. I have a FMIC also. I tighened all the couplings and sprayed them with hair spray. I changed many hoses and siliconed anythign that i can think would be a problem like bov flange, jpipe gasket, biss screw. I listened for air leaks and sprayed things with soapy water. Cant find anything. Im thinking maybe the throttle body?
I am going to make a boost leak tester but does anyone have any ideas or experienced anything like this that may be similar. I was thinking break booster line because of the break thing but the hose doesnt appear to be leaking....i dunno. Any think that anyone has to say is appreciated....thanks

I know that as soon as you get that simple, $2 intake leak tester build, the source of the problem will be obvious. Those testers are really useful, and it'll answer all of your questions as to where the leak is at.

I don't know what you're going to use to pressurize it, but I've found that with my car (which only has a tiny tiny tb leak) a bike-pump, or a foot pump just can't move enough air to pressurize it well (even with no leaks).

thanks. I made the boost leak tester actually found one. But there must be more. I am having the problem of how to get 20 steady psi through the system....how did you do it. I cant hear anymore and i think that it must be due to lack of air flow.

any more help is appreicated.

I don't find that anything less than a shop air compressor is very usefull when pressure testing your intake. If you have any leaks at all a manual pump is going to be hard pressed to build any pressure and you'll be too busy pumping to find anything.
When I made my leak tester I used a quick disconnect for the inlet and just set the regulator on the compressor for 20 psi and plug the air line in.

If you don't have a compressor, getting one of the cheap tanks and filling it at gas station is a big improvement over a bike pump.
