vaccum leak, I can hear it but cant find it :(

I start my car and it idles, but it idles on lean and never goes to rich like it should and it almost cuts off (it does if I uncap one of the vaccum lines I just found). Me and my friend ripped out the charcol canister and I think some of the lines that went to that were vaccum lines but I cant find them, are they up under the car or what? I hear a LOUD leak and I get shitty boost 9-10 psi before I hear a loud sssssss sound. Also my TB did have a small leak but i dont think it is that leak (that might have gotten severly worse) because I hear it in the middle of the big silver thing (not the IC, but the thing by the firewall, i cannot remember the term) where the IC pipe runs to. and not by the TB
 
That uhh.. "big silver thing" you are referring to is probably the throttle body/intake manifold. (it's aluminum not silver). Do a pressure test on your system (www.vfaq.com) as you would to check for a boost leak, and break out a bottle of really soapy water.. It should make soap bubbles where it is leaking at. It makes it a lot easier to find.
 
yea im boosting better than ever now that i replaced the totally fuct seals in the TB and the loose connection on my IC piping but my throttle body plate is sticking when it closes and making the car jerk when i let off the gas or on the gas :( we tried spraying silicone in the tb elbow on the plate a couple times, it only helps for like a few min.
 
I am having the same ind of problems! I just changed my throttle body so I am betting that that is where all my boost is going. Where can you buy the gaskets? AUto Zone or Advance? I will check there
 
vfaq.com has the part # for mitusbishi dealerships under the intake part that has 2 faq's for replacing the seals on the tb. (but it also has that # there in case u screw up the gaskets) but i think my jerking is due to idle surge. i came across a page today that said some kind of motor might be adjusted wrong or something causing it to open all the way at low rpms. the link is here: http://dsm.org/how-tos/tttt/tttt3.html

but i need pics on certain parts like the ISC FIAV and the EGR. I have my emissions removed and the charcol canister but i dont have a EGR blockoff plate put on. im not sure exactly where the heck that thing is.
