I was on my way to Pennsylvania, and just cruising at about 70 the check engine light came on. I hit a slight incline, and as I start to accelerate I feel a rattling and loss of power. It lasts for like 10 seconds, then goes away. I pull over and pop the head. Check the oil, other fluids, make sure there are no leaks, and look around the engine for anything unusual. All looks well, I continue on my way. The car is fine for another 200+ miles. I go to get the code pulled today and they tell me it's a misfire in cylinder 4. They recommend no repairs because all feels well.

Do you guys think that I have a serious problem brewing? Is it possible for a continuous misfire like that just to be a fluke? Might I just need to replace my spark plugs/wires?

The wires and plugs are only 25K old. Both are NGK. I will probably replace them anyway just to be safe.

How do I check ignition timing?
