New acc belts results in creaking noise...pulley?

I replaced my ps, a/c, and alt belts on my 1992 Plymouth Laser 1.8 since winter is coming, and now I get a fast repeating creaking/squeal noise, ONLY after the car is warmed up. I also am now getting more valve tapping or knocking sound.

I tried re-tightening the belts, and I still hear the noise. I hope I did not overtighten the belts or maybe just one in perticular. How do I know what the tension should be for each belt? I tried to find resources on this site on how to determine play for each belt, but could not find any info.

It almost sounds as if the sound is coming from a pulley, like it is rubbing or lop-sided. I tried to narrow it down, and it sounds like it is coming from the small adjusting pully where the AC belt goes on. Then again, I could be putting a lot of excess pressure on a pulley if they are indeed overtightened.

Anyways, I did some searching on this site, and found out that the crank pully has known problems. Since the A/C belt goes on the crank pully, it might be the issue. Does anyone have any advice on testing the pulley? I looked at it and it didn't seem to wobble much, but does look more wobbley than the other pulleys.

Suggestions, please help??? THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Well, none of them shoud wobble at all, but to see if it's belt noise, get a sprayer and spray some water on the belts, one at a time. If it's just a noisy belt, get some Door-Ease and put a dab of that on it. By the time it wears off, the belt will probably have gotten itself used to its new home, and shut up.
It will also work to use a _small_ amount of WD-40. The belts have enough surface area to overcome its lubrication powers.

Hi,

THANK YOU for replying to my post!

I forgot to mention that I did try putting on belt dressing but it didn't seem to help.

Do you think it might be the A/C pulley? crank pulley? Or that my belts are on too tight, or not tight enough?

Thanks again!

I can't hear it from here, and the visibility's worse, so all I can do is guess. First, isolate which belt it's from, then try going a bit looser with it, then try tightening, and finally, look into the specific pulleys.
If it's not that bad, and you can be reasonably certain it's not a broken part, see if they shut up over a week's driving.
