Ok, recently while I'm driving I've come across a problem. When it comes time to shift into 3rd, sometimes it feels as if I'm hitting a block, like theres something in the way. I have to hold the clutch down and re-shift, then it goes in. It doesnt happen ALL the time, but often enough to get on my friggin' nerves. Could my gearbox be out of alignment or could it be something more serious than that?

Wow; I thought I was never going to see anyone post this. I have the exact same problem; mine started after the car was a few weeks old. I've asked about this before but never received an answer.

I complained to beat hell to Mitsubishi and they tried a few other cars on the lot and said that "some" of them did the same thing so they considered it normal. I complained more and they sent some kind of corporate complaint resolution guy out to check it and he said it was fine provided you shifted very slowly. Try that, if you shift with two fingers, real slow, just letting the shifter take it's own path, does it work OK? Mine does, but if you put any speed on it, the bastard will hang just as you say. I've had lots of people drive the car and all of them get skunked going into third.

Let me know if you figure out what this is.

OMG Are you serious?! They admitted that there was a problem with the damn things and they said it was normal?! Doesnt that warrant a recall?! What if someone is forced to downshift from 4th... AND THEY CANT!! Shift slow my ass! It's time to get in contact with my dealer, that is BS.
