some one please help me, i started my car ten min ago and it was fine then i started to drive and this weird knocking noise from my engine started to happen. then i looked and my belts where not moving so i checked all them and it came off my a/t pulley, could i fix this easy or did i realy mess something up. could i just put it back on the pulley and start.
 
Dunno. But i would not drive your car at all. Cuz if your crank pulley is loose then that means that your timing belt can move around and that is no good at all.

-Don't drive the car, you will need to get another crank pully. Some companies sell the under drive version without the rubber insulation on it.
 
Yes, you've lost the damping rubber in the harmonic balancer. Don't drive it that way, it's too easy to take out a cam belt along with others. Tell your car "thank you" for not destroying itself.
 
hey thanks guys im ordering buscur crank pulley. hey defiant what do u mean when u said thanks my car for not destroying its self. does this mean its a easy fix as getting a new pulley and belt and put it on or did i mess anything up. My timing didnt jump because the cam gears are alignthed but i have no markets on my camsgears anymore to make sure whats another way i could tell thanks
 
-I never use those underdrive pully but I believe they put the timing mark on them, here is another way to check the timing.
 
ok i real need help on putting this crank pulley on, is it easy as taking the old one off and putting this one on and putting the belts back on or do i have to worry about timiing, i never done this before and dont want to mess anything up
 
I am pretty sure you are just talking about the accessory pulley, in which case you shouldnt have to worry about the timing at all. just unbolt the old pulley (put car in gear so you dont spin the motor) and there should be a dowel pin to make sure the pulley only goes on one way. You might want to use some thread sealer or loc-tite or something on the pulley bolts. Torque them to spec if you can. Thats pretty much all there is to it.

If you are talking about the actual crank pulley where the timing belt is, that is a whole differnt story.

I mean you had a terrific stroke of good luck, and you should go to the Temple of DSM and burn some incense.
Replacing the crank pulley doesn't get into the timing, and since the motor didn't lock up, you're fine.
 
nice thanks guys, ya its my crank pulley, i just orderd my stock one today for 110. ill be putting it on this weekend so if i need more help ill get back to u guys. also how do i get those belts back on there tough. and should i have when with buscur pulley or stock
 
You really should have a manual of some sort before you attempt to work on your car. The factory manual is the best, but all I have is a Haynes manual and its pretty decent for the basic stuff. It will show you how to do what you need to do.

In order to get the belts back on you will need to loosen the alternator and possibly the AC if you have it. The manual will show you how. Good Luck.
 
GET A MANUAL!! They are only like 15 bucks. And any autoparts store can get you the correct belt.

I'll give you a hint, there are 2 bolts that need to be loosened to "swivel" the alternator back and forth. Its not that hard to figure out.
