Ok, here is the deal, I recently rebuilt the motor in my 2g gst and now i am noticing something strange. when i am at cruising speed ( or any speed from 35+) and i give it WOT past half throttle there is no more acceleration, all that happens is the engine gets louder. The boost gauge goes up and no more power. above 5-6 psi there is no power gain. I have an A/F gauge and it reads rich at WOT. I am thinking it is something in the fuel system or ignition system. The only mods i have done are intake/exaust, ic piping and a bov. I also did a pres check and no leaks were found.

Any ideas,

Thanks,
Corey:)

Timing yes, but which timing. I'm inclined to think you have cam timing off. Pull it through with a 1/2" drive ratchet and check this first.

If you are off 1 tooth you can very carefully work both belts towards the edge then slip the offender off while pulling very tight while you tweak the cam one notch. You can also push a tapered hardwood wedge to trap the belt so it doesn't move just before you slip it off. You then will have to press the belt onto the leading entry of the cam gear and again use the ratchet to pull the engine through as you work the belt back on.

If cam timing is right then look to ign timing circuit(s) and hoses in correct positions. At that speed and load you should be well into an advance condition to prevent knock so you will need to know what is going on there. It may be necessary to plug a data logger into the circuit to verify all conditions are being met.

Cheers,
GTM
