well, just bought a 94 talon, it's not awd, and it's not turbo yet, but it is 2.0 and 5 speed, pretty much fully loaded, bought it off a women about 140 miles from here, not running, talked to her dad (who does all the mecanic work for her) said he replaced the broken balancer belt and timing belt, and I explained the fact that the 2.0 is an interference engine, and all.
paid her 400 bucks, and towed it home with one of my fords.
Pulled the valve cover to find all 8 intake rockers just laying under there, and it looks like probably all 8 valve are bent.
I have the engine ready to pull just have to move the car to my other shop bay where i have an overhead crane.
my ? is, what kinda lower engine damige am i to exspect when i pull the head, how much damige does this engine usaly do to pistons?
If the lower end looks good ill probably slap another head on it and drop it back in untill i find a decent turbo motor for the car, then sell the current motor to off-set costs.
Thanx in advance for any help, and btw, I have been working on cars along time and have never worked on a car so well designed as these dsm cars! WOW!

-Bended 14 valves in the last timing belt episode, that was at freeway speed, I shut off the motor as soon I heard knock, 2 pistons were ding up, but after I put the motor back together, not leak at all. The extend of the damage is depend on the speed at the time.

-Putting a turbo motor into a NA chassis, beside the motor, you also need the ECU, harness......

was at in town driving, so im guessing it was low.
i know there's alot more needed then just the engine for a turbo swap.
my ? was about lower engine damige, thanx for the help!

i know the head is messed up,, just wondering about the block and mostly the pistons.
Thanx for the help! thats good to hear, hopfully i wont have much damige either and can slap another head on it.

please read the rest of my post LOL
if i can slap another head on this engine, ill be selling it down the road to offset costs of the turbo engine swap.
besides i get parts dirt cheap.

The bottom end should be fine. You may have dented the pistons some, but nothing drastic.

In extreme cases, you can break pistons and bend or break rods. Very rarely.

And only post ONCE with a question, or the mods'll gitcha.
