anybody ever assemble a motor from a 1990 big rod block using a 1993 turbo head .. ? ? and in the process tryed to put in some ARP head stud

part number --- > 207-4201 (4g63 head studs)

well ive done it .. and have had nothing but problems ever since .. !! the studs seem to big for the holes in the 1993 head .. so i machinned the holes bigger thinking everything would be ok .. but no .. its just not working ..  my question is .. since the oil goes up to the head around the front left head stud (if your in front of the car and facing towards it ..) since i drilled the hole bigger .. could that of cause my oil pressure to the head to be to much .. and explain why the crank seal just mysteriously started squirting like crazy ,, and the oil pump seems to be seazing ?? !! the oil pump is hard to turn over by hand ?? !! this is not normal ?? !! what could be happening ?? !

anybody had the same experience ?? !! or is there a specific way this is suppose to be done ?? !! .. ??

thx guys !!

alex

6-bolt ARP hardware is 12mm studs. 7-bolt hardware is 11mm. You need to clearance ONLY 1 mm and as long as you have the dowels in the block, everythign should be fine.

And for gods sakes, search. I know just me alone have posted this information at least 3 times.

I suppose it would be easier to figure out what the hell you were asking if you actually wrote in complete sentences and stopped ending every remark with '?? !!'. What are you in 5th grade? Seriously.

No, drilling out the passages should not cause a change in oil pressure unless you went berserk on the clearances. Even then the evidence should be obvious and it would only drop the oil pressure, not increase it.

If the oil pump is seizing it may be a rear balance shaft issue. Drop the oil pan and check the condition of the rear shaft.

This is MUCH better. Lay off the ?? and !! and you will be fine.

Check for scoring and heat marks. Also check the free play in the oil pump. WHere are you measure oil pressure at?
