**See Post #4 for the update, I misread what I was interested in.**

I spent about 30 mins searching for this and could not find any luck. I could not find where the laser/talon/eclipse ecu's are interchangeable with different size engines.....

I have a 91 talon awd, that is in need of a working ecu. I found a working ecu that is out of a 91 laser awd, 5 speed, but the engine is a 1.8.

Will the 1.8 ecu out of the laser work in a 2.0 car?

Thanks for the replies!

I re-read everything and it isnt AWD, I dont know where I got it was an AWD unless it was becuase I had multiple windows open at the same time. :)

So let me ask this the correct way... :)

Will a 91 5 speed 1.8 FWD laser ECU work in a 91 AWD 5 speed talon?

FYI, the ecu is in Michigan and im in Missouri, so I can't just plug it in and if it works I buy it. :)

Does it matter if the ecu came out of a laser or eclipse as long as it matches the old Tsi ecu?

For example, will a ecu out of a 92 AWD, 5 speed, turbo Laser work in the AWD, 91 5 speed, turbo Tsi?

Lastly to everyone in this thread thank you for all your help so far! It is greatly appreciated!

I have a similar question. So whether the car was AWD or FWD didn't matter, as long as they were both turbo. I need to swap my 90 GSX AWD 4g63 into a 91 TSi FWD shell. I would be swapping everything engine/drivetrain related, but would the ECU already in the Talon still work? Or would I have to rewire in the ECU off of the GSX?

yes the ecu will work but alot of your sensors are different plugs on your motor so you will have to swap sensors and i believe your throttle body
