97 GST problem

S let me start off by saying that I don'y own the car yet. I'm buying a 97 GST auto from a buddy that went to Wyotech with me, he lives in Minniapolis. The car has been in a frontal collision with a pole. The fender is screwed up, the tranny cooler was damaged, and now this.. I own a 92 GSX so I don't know much about 2G DSM's yet this is why I'm asking all you fine folks...So heres the problem...When the car is started it wants to boost right away, and then the car dies. he said "I start the car and the turbo starts spooling, then it dies". So I was thinking that maybe the wastegate actuater is broken and is staying open or closed which is why it wont blow off. But then again the car dies, so maybe it the pcm is seeing that boost is coming and it shouldn't be, then shuts off the engine as a failsafe...Or theres just something that isn't hooked up and is causing the turbo to spool. Other than the information I have givin you I don't have anything else to go on.. so I figured someone would be able to give me a clue as to why this is going on. Then I could tell him the problem , and the car can be fixed by the time i pick it up next week.. So please give me responses, and hopfully he can fix the car..Ohh and he don't know nothin about turbo'd cars or he would have figured it out already...Thank you in advance everyone:dsm::thumb:!!!!

So he spent thousands on an auto school, and learned absolutely nothing about turbo cars? What a waste:toobad:
 
Yes he did..But I told you guys like monday or sunday that he wouldn't answer me back, so I bought that talon on monday morning...Also Wyotech screwed us on the high performance part. And without that class tech doesn't even talk about boosted cars. Just normal everyday, mom and dad family POS'S... Can I close this thread or resolve it or something? It was weird seeing this pop up..
