ok guys this car is driving me absolutly insane ive had 5 ecu's from dsm graveyard and all of them are bad i know its not the ecus it cant be is there anything besides a short in the wiring that could be causing this please help guys im almost to the point of selling her

What codes? What problems? Does the car run and if so how? What have you done aside from swapping ecu's? That's a very vague post.

ok um i had it rebuilt by godspeed out of fayetteville nc had a evo 3 turbo put on right after the rebuild and it did run but as soon as u hit the gas it would cut off but the codes are reading like negative 35 degrees and running hot the next min the guy i tyook it to ### i no longer had time to do the work myself said it looks like the ecu's are gettin burnt in the same spot where the fuel and everything is controlled but i havnt personally seen it someone said it could be the mfi switch the gold box right beside the ecu but im bout ready to sell her shes anoyying the crap out of me

So your only code is something to do with coolant temp. Or maybe that's intake temp. Please, clarify. What was the code number or specific title. IE: what is the ecu telling you is wrong?

So, you're telling me someone told you your car is frying a portion of the ecu, so you continued to put in new ecu's and fry them. It sounds like your frustration is caused by a poor problem solving approach, not the car itself.

Lets put it this way, check the codes. Test or replace anything it says is wrong. It sounds like you may just need something simple like a coolant temp sensor. Stop throwing ecu's at the damn thing.

yes if you have replaced 5 ecus then the ecu isnt the problem, if the ecu is throwing a code find out what code it is throwing and what that code points to be the problem. Then fix that problem and the code will go away

i mean its not throwin any specific code and its not running it wont run for shit dude and yea the main code it keeps throwin is the intake temp but the guy said its the same codes he wouldnt specify all of them he just said crazy codes like the intake readin -35 and it was like 105 out that day so yea i mean jsut a some answers is all im asking i wish i could be more specific but thats all that i kno is what im tellin

who did you take it to? i would ask for a printout on all these "crazy codes"

Get yourself a logger or voltmeter and go out and check the codes..

First you title the thread "throwing crazy codes." Then you say "it's not throwing any specific code." Then you go back to "crazy codes." Please get some basic idea of what is wrong. If you just post a simple question with 'my car doesn't run' you're going to get a simple answer like 'put some gas in it and turn the key.'

The only thing you've given so far is an air temp problem. Try a new MAS and check the wiring for that sensor.

if you are getting negative coolant temps or baro CEL codes or negative intake temp readings. you might have blown your ecu ground track.

pull out the ecu and open it, here is a link that will help you identify if it is blown
blownsensorground [ECMTuning - wiki]

all you will need to do is soder that little track back together.

to prevent that from happening again, check all your sensors wires are not touching each other. all it takes is 2 wires to touch and puufff you blew the ecu ground track
