I have a 99 GST. Thats has around 69xxx miles orginal miles. It started its life off as a DYNO Queen and then was returned to stock with the same motor, less ingectors and all the good stuff. The other day it seemed that I was losing power, but my logger stayed normal like it was when i seemed to have more power, come to figure out my intercooler pipe was starting to come off, so i fixed that. Then that night i started the car up and it made this horrible ticking noise worse than lifters, bust sounded in that area toward the back of the motor. So i took a look everything seemed to be fine both the timimg marks line up, so i drove it home, it sounded like a 2 metal gears spinnging at high RPM, like the motor was at 8000 but was only at 3000. I also noticed that the SPEEDO does not work. This noise is always there, idle with the clutch pushed in and let out. THen today the car would not start at all. Im at a loss on what to do. People are telling me its either a main or a rod bearing, but it should start up and be a knock I would think. Please help

Matt

pull your bottom timing cover and see what kind of shape your crank position sensor is in, maybe your balance shaft belt snapped and started beating on your cps and took it out, this happened to me like 3 mouths easy fix, hard to figure out what happened. Is there a check engine light on also?

Well went out the other day and it would not start, so someone had mentioned to me to check the Cam Postion Sensor, and to my surprise it was all chewed up inside of the housing so, I think I found my fix, just wait to get the part here and try it.

Yes, I just tried it today, it did not fix the problem. I did notice one thing. I have taylor wires and where the boot goes over the plug there is rubber boot, i ended up with 2 of them. The motor seems like it wants to start it sputters like it ones to the first time and then after that it just cranks. Im running out of options im really frustared.
