for about 2 months my car in the morning has been hesitating under boost i assumed a boostleak..but once the car has been driven the leak vanishes...its only when my car sits for more then 5-6 hours or over night. Now this morning same thing i start driving car hesitates under boost, i let off the gas..re boost same thing except this time i got a NASTY backfire. now my car has ZERO power... my turbo freely boosts with no control but doesnt generate ANY power...idle is all messed up...car smokes from the exaust...smells like pure fuel..i checked for blown off IC pipes didnt see any blown off i know i should do a BLT but this seems like it somthing other then a BL

any help or ideas would be appreciated im at work so i cant do anything now

when you get home from work it would be best to do a boost leak test. i know you said you think it's more than just a boost leak, but boost leaks can cause some very serious issues. pressurize the system up to 20 psi or so, then watch your pressure guage on your air compressor or portable tank and see how long it takes for each single psi to leak down.

are you getting a CEL since this issue came up?? if so, get a diagnostic check run on it so you know what code it's throwing.

my CEL is always on from my BCS and from running a test pipe so i would have to plug it into a logger to see the actual codes it throwing.im just alittle concerned about my turbo....im getting no boost but my gauge is reading boost from 5-15psi with NO kinda power and i can hear it spooling up. just hope i didnt break my turbo..again until i get home or tomorrow i cant really do much but im trying to get other ideas OTHER then a boost leak

Have you checked for boost leaks? Also plug the bcs back in even when removed it will turn the cel off.

im not sure that's the case all the time. mine still throws a CEL for the bcs and it's plugged back in. but that might have something to do with the po300 i'm throwing right now.

honestly i dont think this is being caused by a boost leak unless its huge...just because when i would drive for about 10min or the car is warmed up the problem would seem to go away...if i cold started in the morning, and drove to the store..it would do its normal hesitating, but once i got to the store and left the problem would be gone, ive never had a problem with blown off IC pipes and when i checked i didnt see anything that looked out of place..

my exhaust smells like pure fuel...which makes me believe un burned fuel is getting into the exhaust could this be bad sparkplugs or plug wires and my car is in limp mode?

usually when you get idle problems that change with the outside air temp. it is either the intake air temp sensor or barometric pressure sensor. both are located in the MAF, you have to replace it to change those 2 sensors.

Sounds a lot like you blew an IC pipe off. I've had the same thing happen. I was under full boost at around 5k and heard an extremely loud pop. Once I tried to accelerate again the car fell flat on its face and as you described I could hear the turbo spooling up extremely loud.

Boost leak test +1

EDIT: Could also have split a coupler. (I forgot you mentioned nothing looked out of place)

The unburned fuel is most likely being caused by a weak ignition component. There is no way to just guess which ignition piece is causing the problem though. You will have to test each different ignition component with a multimeter until you run across the guilty culprit. Going ahead and swapping the spark plugs and spark plug wires though would definitely be a good start. Make sure you only buy NGK BPR6ES plugs, gapped to .028. The spark plugs provide the fire to burn the fuel in the combustion process, so since you're getting unburned fuel in the exhaust it's very possible the problem is as simple as a basic tune up. Even if a tune up fixes your problem you still need to run a boost leak check. You can't see anything wrong if you have a leak somewhere near the throttle body. But a boost leak check will definitely tell you.
