I recently bought a 90 eagle talon that was not running. All the timing marks line up and it does not sound like there has been any interfirance in the head, engine, or piston area and it cranks smooth. First issue I found was the engine was flooded. Did a vcompresion check just to issure that it was heavily flooded and got inconsistant numbers. Second issue I found was there was no spark.

I did some research and swapped all recomennded parts. ECU, power TR, C.A.S and still have no spark. I also drained all the oil and let it sit drained and open in as many places as possible. Put new oil in just so that's out there.

What am I missing is there something else I need to try. The parts I swapped were off a running car that had a damaged head so they worked before. Thanks for looking and I hope I full filled what I said in the title!!!!!

Well first I grounded out the plug to the intake manifold. Then I tried the good ole screwdriver in the end of the plug...then I tried the coil in the same fashion. I also took the spare coil and TR and tried them on my 90 and the coil fired happily. It is really eluding me of what it can be some keep asking the question so I can get as many facts out as possible.

What would stop me from getting power at the coil. I checked my running car and found that I get .05 volts reading when the coil is powered. I get no reading at all on the nonrunning car.

Check the power transistor, the coil packs and the icm i believe all of these can cause you a no spark problem. If you search for these on the forms theres a couple people with the testing methods to check them out. Hope this helps.

Sorry to :beatentodeath:, But this time it was different. I unhooked the injectors so that tthe car would not flood any more so I never noticed that they wrent firing also. Then low and behold the MPI fuse was blown. I didnt think that it would also cause the car not to spark. One of my friends that knows nothing about cars got me head in the fuse direction. Thanks for the replys guys!!!
