Unfortunately, i've been thru the whole merged post and several others about this, but there seems to be no real tech info on these items.
I would like to know how big of a fuse (between the battery and kill switch) is adaqate, and what is too big or small and why? The threads read anywhere from a 40a to the more common 150a, and 200a.
Also just a simple diagram with detailed info would have proven much more useful to me.
Yeh, i got the just of it all, but the many opinions of what will work gets damn confusing!
Any real help with this will be greatly appreciated and respected, thankx!:laser:

Also, anybody have pics of, or run an isolation block for the stock wiring to the positive term. under the hood?

you would actually be better off buying a circuit breaker for a battery relocation than a fuse. but if you want to run a fuse then buy a 200 amp ANL type fuse. you'll just have to buy an ANL fuse holder from a car audio shop. you could get the circuit breaker there too. you dont have to keep buying fuses if a wire shorts if you've got a circuit breaker.

the reason you need a 200 amp fuse or circuit breaker is there are so many different things running off the battery anything less just wont cut it. a 150 would work, but it might be a little risky. better to just go big enough you dont have to worry about it. however the larger 200 amp fuse will take more time/voltage shortage to blow it or trip the circuit breaker.

Normally the starter main power cable is not fused since the starter draws anywhere from 50 to 150A depending on load. The rest of the car has a main fuse of either 80 or 100A (for alt charging battery) with many smaller fuses both under it and from the battery directly. Since you're moving the battery (to rear I assume) and you still have to run the starter, you will have to run a 200A fuse or breaker.

Thankx for the replies, but i'm wondering if i were to put in a 200a fuse (yes im' mounting the battery in the back) would the fuse have too much resistance and possibly burn up something? also, would u run the 150a/200a fuse including keeping the stock fuses on the stock possitive battery cables or not?

Thankx fellas!:laser:

I would use a 200amp. And leave the fuses on the hotside. Those are the fuses for your fan, ecu and ignition switch. You know you have to have an external shut off switch outside right to be track legal and must be in a approved sealed box.
