my 90 eclipse gst idles bad when i come up to light it sometimes dies but not sure if it is idle surge my rpm's never goes higher than 1500rpm at a stand still what does this sound like

look for any vacuum hoses that popped off..

also..get a can of brake cleaner and spray it around the Throttle body area while idling ..if the car revs or stalls out..vacuum leak..

also.. inspect your intake hose between the maf and turbo ,and generally, inspect every hose .

look for cracks as well as areas where hoses might get caught on,get worn through by vibration etc etc.

Sounbds like a bad isc motor. Test the isc how your haynes manual says to. You do have a haynes manual right?

Has it ever idled correctly? if so since that time have you changed anything or made any upgrades? If have changed anything u will need to reset the BISS if you haven't, there are instructions in a haynes manual, or you can find them easily on another thread.

actually just bought car but i will check all those things

I recently bought my first DSM and it had some stalling issues. Coming from a Honda Civic, I had no idea what was going on. It had a cheap twin-horn blow off valve and it was not recirculated. The car would stall almost everytime I stopped. I found this site, used the search feature and found out the blow off valve was my problem. In my opinion, this site is the most useful resource for DSM's. Search around here and you'll get your DSM running right in no time.

Yea more than likely its the isc or you got a leak somewhere in the vacuum lines. I would just look it up in the haynes manual or just go get a diagnostic on it but if you wannado it yourself like most dsm'ers, then just browse through your haynes manual and pray you fix it right the first time.
