So i started my car from the rebuild, With everything being brand new down to the bolt. i thought nothing could go wrong. well i turn the car on, started right up and i got a really loud Ticking noise coming from the oil pan. My oil pressure is about 130psi . I did do the B/S removal. i heard that brings higher oil pressure but the ticking is new to me. Anybody have an idea. its really loud. I check the timiing and its fine. head is getting oil. i just don't know whats going on:cry:

I don't know much about the 4g63 in general...but did you oil prime your engine before starting it after a rebuild? If it wasn't primed correctly you might have a internal damage, but it would explain the ticking, not the extremely high oil pressure.

Sure its not piston slap? I had a brand new motor done at a local machine shop that was known for the bomb ass work. Well turns out they over bored two cylinders and I was getting piston slap. Sounded just like it was coming from the oil pan. You should be able to pull the oil pan of a wiggle on your rods. You will no when something is bad due to excessive movement. Thats how I found my problem. It Sucked!!!! Good luck.

Try checking your rod bearings. Pull your plugs out, bring the cilender to the top then go by just enough to take the tension off the piston put screw driver down in the plug hole of said cilender and gently tap or push down on the cilender if it goes clunk or any noise of that sort its the rod bearings.

ok. did you get the crank turned. and get oversized bearings? Did you measure your clearances too? What were the clearances?

got check check and check. i'll let you guys know a couple details tomorrow. im open her up

well i found out the crank sensor was hitting the metal piece that gives the signal to the sensor. simple fix. thanks for the help guys

no just bent i guess. i had to sit there and re-bend it. now to find my oil pressure problem
