Alright this problem started about 4 months ago where I couldn't shift into any gear when the car was on but when it was turned off it worked like a charm, so I ended up dropping the trans and putting in a new clutch along with a new TOB that was making a whinning noise. After that was replaced it was running like a charm untill 900 miles later where the same problem began to happen again and I'm not about to go buy a new clutch because I have a new one in there and that would be very wierd if the clutch went bad already. So my question is what can I do to fix this problem?

This is on a 95 GSX with a 6 bolt engine.

The only gears that i can force it into are 2nd and reverse, forcing it into 2nd is hard but doesn't grind but if i force it into reverse it will grind. And it is a after market clutch, its a fidanza.

Sounds like the clutch master and/or slave cylinder is failing.
When this happens the clutch won't fully disengage so putting the transmission into gear is either very difficult or impossible when the engine is running. Replacing the clutch disk, pressure plate or TOB will not solve the problem.

for an aftermarket clutch you should look into the slave cylinder extension rod, it enables the slave cylinder to fully compress the clutch allowing you to shift gears, a lot of people have had this problem with aftermartket clutches

On a 1g, there is an adjustment rod where the clutch pedal pushes into the back of the clutch master cylinder under the dash. I adjusted mine out about 1/4" longer and did not have any shifting problems again. But you can look into the following for a more permanent fix.

1. Make sure your master or slave cyl isn't leaking.
2. Replace the rubber hyd line with a SS line that goes to the slave cyl.
3. How old is your fluid? It could have a fair amount of moisture in it and won't hold the pressure. Flushing it out is quick and cheap.
4. On a 1g, there is an upgrade that needs done to the clutch pedal assembly because the plastic pivot bushings wear out, break and fall out leaving a significant amount of slop in the pedal assembly. If you were able to push the pedal thru the floor another 2 inches the problem wouldn't be there, but by the time the slop gets taken up in the assembly you are at the floorboard.

If you can't find an engagement issue then maybe your clutch might not be disengaging fully and causing it to wear out faster than normal. It would be like riding around with your foot partially on the clutch all the time.

1. Did your flywheel look ok when you were in there?
2. Does the car feel like it doesn't put down all the power that it should?
3. Does your speed rise with the revs like you think that it should or does it feel like the clutch is slipping?
4. Do you smell the clutch burning smell often but not when you are slipping it or launching?

1)This was a while back but from what i remember it had some major swirls on it, i got it resurfaced and it was fine.
2)The power seems like it suppose to feel
3)The clutch was no slipping when i was able to drive it
4)no burning clutch smell

I'm probably going to start by bleeding the system, if that doesn't work then I'm going to get a new slave and master. And I'll get that extension rod you were talking about.

Alright so I got the new slave and master cylinder and replaced the old ones. Bled the clutch and adjusted the clutch. With this all done my car was running good for a total of 2 days, now again i cant go into any gear and when i put it into gear when the car is off and turn on the car it will make a squeaking sound when I let off the clutch and drive in 1st and then sometimes it will let me go into 2nd and it will make the same noises. This car is beginning to really piss me off. Is there anything else i can do?

Yea I bled it right and made sure of it when i thought everything was bled i did it a some more, when this happens does this mean rebuild time?
