This all sarted a couple days ago when I was driving the car. It was only idling at about 15 in hg(vac), 900 rpm and was running rich. It was about 19 degrees outside. As I was driving the car would randomly turn off, mostly when I was decelerating or down shifting. I did not think anything of it, just shook it off as the combination of the cold and maft. So the next day I went to start the car and it was a hard start. It was idling at 1500 rpm and around 10 in hg. When I tried backing the car up it stalled a couple of times, but eventually I got it to move. It would not boost at all and I could only give the car about 15% throttle before it would stop moving. If I would go to wot. the rpms would drop and the car would have zero power. So I turned around and got the car back. As soon as I pulled into my drive way the car just shut off and would not start back up. I pulled the plugs and they were completley black and wet with fuel. So I thought i had a bad coil. I checked the resistence of the coil and it was fine, but replaced it with another just for good measure. This did nothing. I replaced the cas with another and it did the same thing. The plug wires have about 5,000 miles on them and i replaced the plugs after seeing these were fouled out. I used ngk bpr6es gapped at .028. I have no idea what the problem can be. The car will not start. I can crank it over and get it to sputter a few times or if I give it some gas it will spit and sputter breifly. Could this be an ecu issue? or something else that I over looked?

Well search first. But here you go.
If you have a massive boost/vacuum leak like your describing your car will not run because it is running excessively rich because your pulling in mass amounts of unmetered air not accounted for. Boost leak test it and fix your connections.
If you've still got a problem PM me.

The car has absolutley no boost leaks, checked that twice today. I have searched and could not come up with any cases like mine. What about the power transitor under the coil pack? What should its resitence value be?

Sorry Viprez but he's running a MAFT, and if its in blow through setup (most who runs MAFTs do) even a blown IC coupler wont effect metered readings (of course unless if its at the elbo, but that would be obvious). If he popped off a vac line and was pulling aie into the manifold it would run lean. Only scenario boost leaks cause a rich condition is under boost because the air stock MAF is reading X amount of air before the turbo, and it doesn't make it to the cylinders and the ECU dumps X amount of fuel according to the MAF readings. But under vac, boost leaks will make you run lean.

But onto the OP's problem, First few things to check first for any no-start. Spark, Fuel, and Compression. I doubt Compression would be an issue due to you not stating anything about jumping timing or anything (also you can check your valve timing by making sure all marks line up). Spark - have a friend crank it over while you pull the plug wires out to make sure your getting spark. Last Fuel - If you smell it coming out of the exhaust...you are most likely getting fuel. One thing to look into is your GM Maf, I had an issue with a a blown 16G a few weeks ago that would cause my car to go stupid rich while crusing for no reason. Took the MAF off and looked at it and it was soaked in oil due to the 16G spitting out enough oil to make it all the way through the IC system.

It did not jump time. The compression test results were 164-163-162-164, so thats definitley not the problem. There is plenty of fuel, so much in fact that when you pull the plugs they are soaked. I cleaned the maf and that did nothing. There is very little spark at all. My coil tests good and I changed it with one from a running car with no result. Plugs are brand new and the plug wires (Taylor 8mm) only have about 5000 miles on them. Does anyone know how to test the coil transistor or what ever its called under the coil? I tested the cas by pulling it out and spinning it. The injectors and plugs would fire, but the spark is very very weak. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Oh didn't see that he was running blow through.:coy:

Check you injector seals and see if they're good, while your at it ohm them out however ohm-ing them out won't tell you their stuck open necessarily. Try unplugging one injector and see if that helps get the car started.

Could also possibly be and ECU issue, Just pull it and look at it. You will know. Also it will have a distinct fishy smell.

Check you power transistor out, More importantly is get rid of those horrible taylor wires, they are complete junk,go get a set of factory wires or the ngk's.and that should fix the problem. I had a set of taylors for about the same time and went thru the motions of diagnosing turns out it was the wires. My friend with a 2g had the same issue. Get rid of the wires.
