So for some reason I keep having tranny problems. I have a 95 tsi FWD. Its putting down around 305whp. When I bought the car it had a zoom puck clutch in it and I drove it for maybe 300miles before the tranny went. I pulled the tranny and looked at it when I saw that 2nd gear had 5 teeth missing. I bought a tranny and put a cheap exedy clutch in it and drove it for around 1200miles then the same thing happened. SO, I bought a act 2600 disk, new motor mounts, and flywheel and tried it again. Yet again, tranny did the same thing. I have been driving manual for years and years and have never had a problem, but this thing keeps eating tranny's on me. I really do not even beat not it that bad and have seen 450whp out of numerous cars with a stock tranny. Any suggestions on whats going on? Everything in the tranny looks mint except for the missing teeth on 2nd.

Either Driving habits (wide open shifts). Of more commonly "wheel hop", that destroys trannye QUICK. If the wheels start "hopping" while they are spinning, LET OUT, you're sure to destroy your tranny if you don't.

Can this have anything to do with crankwalk? My thoughts were that possibly the Clutch is not disengaging correctly ? Thanks guys.

May i ask why youve been replacing the clutch after every tranny. Are they being messed up over that short period of time

Thats the thing it shifts fine everytime. The only reason I replaced the clutch is because the first to times I had a six puck in it and I didn't like the drivability. The third one couldn't hold the power of the motor. I don't understand why it just messes up second gear. I thought maybe the wrong trans fluid would do it because maybe the gears are just getting real hot.

In most transmissions 2nd gear takes the most abuse. When you launch hard your shifting from 1st to 2nd fast. If you want to launch it hard you may need something like a shep tranny. Im pretty sure wheel hop takes out the differental. Id guess its driving habits. I dont know much about 2nd gens, I think you cant do this cause the tranny mounts different. In a first gen you can alter an awd tranny to work in a fwd. By buying a vicous couple eliminator.
