so every morning before i go to work i start my car and when it idles it sits around 2500-2800 rpms until im at work which is about 20-25 mins away. i will idle that high every time i stop at a light or stop sign or whatever, and its really getting annoying.

i blocked off the throttle body coolant lines, i cut them off the throttle body and welded them shut.

after searching around the forums i see that people block off the FAST AIR IDLE VALVE.

will blocking it off solve my high idle issues ?

blocking off something wont solve the issue. theres something causing that to idle high. Check your IAC valve and clean ytour maf sensor. also make sure you have no vacuum leaks. make sure that where you welded and hacked around is 100% sealed. start there

sure blocking off something will solve issues, thats why they make a FAIV block off plate. My IAC valve & MAF sensor are both good. No leaks anywhere.

I found my answer through a local race shop yesterday. The FAIV works off coolant, since i hacked those coolant lines it always stays open, hence keeping my RPMS that high until my car warms up, so if i block off the passage itll fix my problem.

Blocking off my FIAV solved my idle problem, which was the exact same as ShadeTreeDSM's problem. There is something causing it to idle high: the lame little plastic bead in the FIAV that can rattle around and not seal properly over time.

I forgot to add, what method do you plan on taking to block it off? I packed my with JB Weld (ghetto I know) but it worked great!
