hey guys whats up.
i recently bought a 97 gst spyder. love the car. just signed up on here today and i love the site.

heres my first question. id like to be able to have the car in motion. (1mph or so) and be able to put the top down. anyone know how to rig that to make that possible? thanks

Sorry, but honestly thats the worst idea ever. Just look up the wiring schematics for the top opener and supply power to the open at all times or whenever you want. Im not familiar with Spyders so I would say that should about do it.

im sure every syder owner has thought of this.
its a pain in the ass to sit their at a red light, stop light, or just traffic period and try and put the top up or down. itd make it so much easier if the top worked up to about 5mph or so.

im sure thiers a speed sensor some where you can bypass. just need to know where its at.

The speed sensor it uses is the main one that everything else uses so you can't disable it. It does however go to pin 1 (yellow/white wire) of the Convertible Top Control Module. I give no guarantees and you do this at your own risk, but you could try cutting that wire and see if that gives you what you want. If not, try connecting just the wire half that goes into that module to ground (do not ground the other half that goes into the harness).

Theres a switch in the trunk for manual mode. Just make sure you dont try it on the highway. I recall a guy telling me about how he fudged up his convertible frame by doing just that.

P.S. How much did you buy your spyder for? And how many miles was on it? Im thinkin about selling mines.

nice car. dont like hondas all the well but thats a very good exception.
one of my bros bought an s2000
hes an hardcore mits guy so once he say my car he was about 2 seconds away from getting another evo LOL
if you end up wanting to sell your ride let me know and maybe you guys can work out a deal.
